Mail Class

When doing bulk mailings (as little as 200 pieces), the United States Postal Service (USPS) allows commercial companies like us to presort mailing pieces, which gives the customer lower postage rates and faster drop times all over the United States.

USPS offers many different presorting services, or classes, to best suit your needs. The most popular are First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, and USPS Marketing Mail (previously known as Standard Mail). Non-profit companies can also qualify for additional reduced postage rates. For other commercial mailings, we leverage industry programs and strategies to maximize your postage savings.

For example, we offer walk sequences, in which we provide your mail pieces in the exact order that the carrier will deliver them. Through the Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) program, we choose one or more specific postal routes and every house or business along that route will receive your mail piece. Our team has years of experience in producing mailers and provides a stress-free experience by working with you to figure out the best mailing class for your campaign and handling your mailer from data to delivery.

 Mail Pieces

USPS separates all mail into four different categories depending on the piece’s size: postcards, letters, flats (large envelopes), and parcels. There are very specific guidelines for categorizing a mail piece, but generally postcards and letters are standard size mail pieces, large and/or thick envelopes are flats, and boxes/thick packages are parcels.

To qualify for specific reduced postage rates via presorting, it’s crucial that mail pieces are within those guidelines. Our mail experts work closely with USPS to ensure that each mailer falls within the necessary specifications.

In fact, over our many years of daily mailings through our USPS Business Mail Entry Unit (BMEU) location, our exemplary mailer scorecard resulted in us being one of the first mailhouses in Columbus to reach “seamless” status. This means less paperwork and processing between your mail pieces and the recipients, so your mail arrives in homes sooner. Utilizing our expertise of USPS requirements we help your mail piece stand out and get in-homes quickly, all within your budget.

Variable Printing

When reaching out to current or prospective clients with direct mail, personalization is a proven method of generating higher engagement and increasing response rates. For instance, recent studies found over 70% of consumers reported that they only engage with personalized marketing.

Variable data printing (VDP) allows us to change the content on each individual mail piece to be unique to the recipient. It can be as simple as adding their name to the mail piece (outside of the mailing panel), or as complex as customizing multiple fields of text and/or images.

Some of our most successful clients use data to generate unique financial offers curated to the individual consumer’s credit profile. We will collaborate with you to produce your own unique variable mailing pieces, including gathering, processing, composing, and merging the data needed.
