Breaking Fundraising Records with the Upper Arlington Girls Volleyball Team

The Dilemma

How do you manage success on a repeating project with new leadership every two years? That's the exact question we asked ourselves while helping plan the Upper Arlington Girls Volleyball (UAGVB) fundraising program for 2023. It was our fifth year as the team's official designer and printer, and we were eager to make a big difference.

The leadership baton passes to a new parent of one of the players every other year. Now, on top of their regular daily responsibilities, that parent is in charge of the most influential fundraising effort of the year. No pressure, right?

The Solution

We met with the current leadership and discussed their objectives for the year, including final sponsorship goals. They wanted to introduce new ways to sponsor along with sponsorships they've offered in previous years. We prioritized streamlining the sponsorship onboarding as much as possible to create a frictionless experience. Our team built a custom landing page with a form that asked all the necessary questions from sponsors, including their sponsorship level and if they needed a design for their ad space.

From there, when a sponsor filled out a form, we had an automated Microsoft Flow that pushed the data to a Google spreadsheet shared between our team and the UAGVB parent leadership. Our team would communicate directly with sponsors to develop or collect their creative for the program or banners, while the UAGVB team collected payment.

The Results

UAGVB saw a 35% increase in fundraising efforts from the previous year! On average, sponsors also spent 50% more than in previous years.

Final Thoughts

You don't have to try to reach fundraising goals alone. Working with UAGVB's parent leadership allowed us to introduce creative solutions to their complex project. Our team combined project management, web development, automation, design, and print manufacturing to create unmatched results.
